Strategically supported by UNESCO, UNICEF, and global partners, the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate (GAUC) and the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) have officially launched the 2023 ‘Climate x’ Leadership Training Program. a structure of a “1+3” module. During the process, GAUC continues to support our students by providing Guest speaker lectures. GAUC will invite its global partners to give speeches and guidance to students.
Food systems, responsible for one-third of global greenhouse gas emissions, are vulnerable to climate change impacts and require transformation. The lecture will focus on Food Systems and the Global Stocktake, highlighting the Emirates Declaration on Resilient Food Systems, Sustainable Agriculture, and Climate Action.
Speakers will explore solutions, including sustainable diets, agroecology support, deforestation prevention, methane reduction, and animal feed regulation. Key recommendations include ending meat production subsidies and integrating plant-based protein targets in government procurement for a resilient and sustainable global food system.
